Tournament introduction by Piotr Girczys

9/10/2005

Clearex Chorzow is ready to fight for second round UEFA Futsal Cup

“We know that Action 21 is one of the best team in the world and that in Iberia there are good players as well. But we have a strong team. Our players are not afraid of anybody . This tournament is the biggest futsal event in Poland in this season” – said Zdzislaw Wolny, Clearex owner, during the friday press conference.

Team from Chorzow has prepared for tournament not only in hall but on the beach too. Clearex won the Polish Cup in beach soccer and lost in final Polish Championship. “There were strange arrangements but we will see… Maybe successful”- said Wolny.

In Polish futsal league Clearex won all three matches played until now, scoring 11 goals and suffering just 3. But the team from Chorzow had many problems to win. Their forwards had many good chances but… they couldn’t turned them into goals as well.

Four years ago Clearex won the qualification tournament in Chorzow, thanks to the triumph over Spartak Moscow and Program Dubnica. It was the first ever edition of the UEFA Futsal Cup, and also the first (and last until now) time in which a Polish team managed to reach the final stage.
