National Championships Start Today In Namibe

Luanda, 10/22 - Angola`s southwestern Namibe province is hosting the national championships of indoors football for senior males and females starting today with the participation of 19 teams.

According to Friday`s draw the championship will open with three matches, being two for males and one females.

In the males category, "Rádio Nacional de Angola", title holder, will play "29 de Novembro" of Namibe, whereas in the female category, Interclube of Kwanza-Sul, champions, will play "Aguias" of Benguela.

Huila`s "Progresso2000" and Porto do Namibe will play to close the round.

In the males category, the competition that is already on its 10th edition will be disputed in two series, with the first two of each group going for the semifinals, whereas the females will compete in a system of all against all, two rounds, being the champion the team that turns out to add more points.

The males teams are: ENE, Escolinhas Futuro da Nação, Coprite and Rádio Nacional de Angola (Luanda province), Sonamet and Águias Vermelhas (Benguela province), Estrela do Palácio and Progresso 2000 (Huíla province).

The host province is represented by the following teams: 29 de Novembro, Académicos and Porto do Namibe and Independente do Tômbwa.

Serie A:
ENE, Coprite, Escolinhas (Luanda), Independente do Tômbwa and Porto (Namibe) and Progresso 2000 (Huíla).

Série B:
RNA (Luanda), Académicos (Namibe), Estrela do Palácio (Huíla), Águias Vermelhas and Sonamet (Benguela).

In females, the country`s capital will compete with the teams of Gira Jovem and Força Aérea Nacional, whereas the Interclube (national champion) is the representative of Kwanza-Sul province. Cab Star and Águias Vermelhas (Benguela), Academicos and CAFA (Namibe) are other competitor teams.

Namibe governor, Boavida Neto, will open the competition, in which will take place in the Saydi Mingas pavilion. The opening will be preceded by a speech by the chairman of the Angolan Futsal Federation (Fafusa), Luis Mourão.
