Dimitri Nicolaou in Spain

Just two weeks before traveling to Lugo for this year’s Recopa Cup, Platon head coach Dimitri Nicolaou got a glimpse of the level and professionalism of two Spanish teams. Nicolaou, who was in Spain for professional reasons, did not waste the opportunity and visited the training sessions of Boomerang Interviu and Las Rozas Boadilla. The coach of the current Hellenic Championship leaders Platon was able to observe one day in the practice of the Spanish champions and discuss with Boomerang coach Jesus Candelas and team manager and former national team captain Jesus Claveria. The previous day Nicolaou spent the afternoon exchanging futsal views and receiving new knowledge from head coach Luis Fonseca of the second division team Las Rozas Boadilla. The Spaniards’ warm hospitality was noteworthy as Nicolaou got a glimpse of what is to come for his team in two weeks when Platon will be in Galicia to participate in the very prestigious Recopa Cup. The Spanish teams are an excellent example of how futsal teams are supposed to work and progress and this experience proved it once again. Nicolaou who is a big fan of the Spanish style and mentality, was impressed by the perfect environment in which futsal teams train and play in Spain. The hospitality was sincerely appreciated and is extended for the future towards the Spanish counterparts.
