RUSSIAN SUPERLEAGUE

ROUND 7

THE BROTHERS WOKE UP

After winning two matches vs Tyumen F.C., CSKA made two steps up in the Super-League table. Currently it takes the sixth place with three points less than Norilsk Nickel which is 5th . Just three points to occupy the fifth place (such a task was presented to CSKA before season).

MATCH 1
That was a day for CSKA twins. The brothers Antipov scored four times (two goals each). The beginning of the game looked crucial for the final result. Up to minute 8 the Red-Army team had obtained real advantage against its opponents – 3:0. But for the team that a week ago had won against Dinamo at Round 3 of Russian Cup in Ekaterinburg (as a result CSKA was the first in its Group and came into the semifinals stage), this score development could not be strange. “The match screen play” seemed logical. But then things changed. Some awful mistakes made by CSKA players while defending cost them much. Two goals, lost before 10 minutes break, did not guarantee a victory. The final score, positive to CSKA, became doubtful.
Alexander Babkin, CSKA head coach, reconstructed team lines a little. His players attacked much without giving their opponents a chance to run to CSKA keeper eye-to-eye. Time after time the guests shot on the red and blue goal but with no effect.
Meanwhile the score remained the same. CSKA was not losing but a difference with just one goal meant nothing. Nobody in the hall was sure of three more points for Ekaterinburg's heroes. At last Serguei Antipov “woke up”. He ran around two Tyumen defenders and its goalkeeper Piatkov with a slight blow to the right angle. In about a minute Serguei was close to a kick-off point. His shot surprised Piatkov who did not catch the ball. So, at minute 32 all was clear. The intrigue died. The Tyumen opposition came to the end.

Alexander Babkin, CSKA head coach:
- The players of first line made the final result. As for the first quartet of Tyumen I would also pay attention to it because it played very well. When we led the score 3-0, there was a kick-off against the opponents goal. We lost the ball and Abuishev rushed to our keeper and then “hit the target” without any opposition. At that moment I was angry with our guys: people with real Futsal experience cannot make such mistakes. Before a Championship match we think of a near match trying to forget about CSKA coming into the Cup semifinals. Unfortunately it's too hard to throw “Cup ideas” out of the head because the participation in this part of the tournament is the best result in CSKA history.

MATCH 2
In the following day the hosts led the score all the match. Tyumen was close to a draw for two minutes and a half. It took place in the second part from minute 25 to minute 28. That was Abyshev, permanent Tyumen leader, that once again gifted hope to its team. Soon the hope died. Vladimir Kolesnikov, CSKA veteran, doubled the hosts advantage. The opponents form Siberia kept on resisting but not emotionally.
The game was going to its logical final. The last doubts of a probable winner disappeared after a simple but a really effective combination. It was held by the Antipov brothers. Alexander made a slight pass right from an angle point and Serguei shot immediately. That was the forth CSKA goal that finally defined a winner.

Alexander Babkin, CSKA head coach:
- The final score is deceptive. Up to the last moment I had not been sure of the second victory over Tyumen. During the game the score was different. It did not keep us in patience. Then everything went good and our task was well done. I should thank Andrey Riabov, our goalkeeper. I guess this match is sure to be one of his best appearances for CSKA. For the last 15 days red and blue guys have held seven matches with four victories, two draws and one lost game. Of course, they are tired. Today they have had to play beyond their own physical mood. I am happy, they gained a difficult victory. By the way, Futsal Luck also helped us.
