Interesting news coming from Brazil, with refer to the next edition of the prestigious
Liga Futsal. According to the national portal
Terra, one futsal glory as
Atletico Pax de Minas (Minas Gerais) was until the end of the 90's (with the best ever players like Manoel Tobias, Euler, Lenisio, Indio, Rogério, Falcão, Vander Carioca and Miltinho as a coach... is that enough?) could come back in futsal taking part into the
Liga Futsal 2006!Atletico, which conquered the liga futsal twice (97 and 99), could play in
Betim, as the management staff of the club is already looking for an agreement with the town administration.
CBFS too would be definitely happy to have Atletico back in the competition, as its president
Aecio Borba de Vasconcelos confirmed:
"we already have 17 guarantee clubs for the next edition, but there is the chance to reach a maximum amount 0f 20. In this list could be also Atletico, as well as Macaé and São Paulo. On january 19th we will decide everything about it." - A jump in the past: know more on the "record match" (attendance: 26.000!!!!) between Atletico Pax de Minas and Rio de Janeiro/Miecimo, liga futsal 1999 final,
