Yannis Mostrios (Futsal Hellas)Hellenic Federation announces New U-21 National Team Coach and TV dealDimitri Nicolaou has been appointed as the new coach of the U-21 National Team of Hellas. The experienced coach, considered by the majority of Futsal fans as the best in the country, has assumed the position to create and organize the Hellenic National youth team. This move by the Hellenic federation is very well timed as the sport is striving to enter a new level of organization. Nicolaou has many years of experience in the sport both as a player and a coach. He has played for Athina'90 and has coached Doukas and currently Platon. His teams stand out as very competitive and well positioned in the field. Nicolaou is 42 years of age and will continue to coach his team while assuming his National Team responsibilities. Platon officials have hailed this move by the team's coach and have extended their congratulations for this honor.
In another announcement, the HF has also announced a deal with TV Magic a privately owned national broadcast station to show one game LIVE every week. The feed started already with last week's Doukas-Platon game and will continue in the following weeks. This comes as a major relief for the sport since the need for more exposure is more than evident. Futsal in Hellas can now become more widely known and this move will give teams and players the incentive they need to work harder and improve the level of the game.
