Japan win Macau futsal event

MACAU: Japan won the Macau Futsal Invitation 2006 with a solitary goal win over Thailand here at the Tap Seac Pavilion on Sunday.

Eight teams participated in the tournament.

The first half ended goalless but Yuki Kanayama scored the match winner in the second half and helped Japan lift the title.

Kyrgyzstan finished third after defeating Chinese Taipei 4-1.

Meanwhile, the Japanese team will have a training camp in Brazil from the middle of March and another camp in Tokyo in April to prepare the AFC Futsal Championship which will be held in Uzbekistan from May 21-27.
