Li JingChinese National Futsal league kick-off to be postponedChinese Football Association postponed the national futsal league kick-off time from February to March. The just ended Chinese lunar new year in February has put everything in China back to normal situation.
According to the municipal FA of Chengdu, the student futsal team of the university of electronic technology and science in Chengdu will be one of the participants in the professional league. It's the first time that one university team is involved in the professional league in China. The university of electronic technology and science in Chengdu is one of the first universities that put the futsal as the curriculum on the campus in China. it is also the first university that has the international futsal exchange program in China.
Last year,the Australian Vikings Futsal club organised men's team and 16 boy's team visited Chengdu and played a number of futsal games and trained with this student team.
Thanks to the sponsorship by the China franchise of the international sports gear brand Umbro, the China national futsal league will take place in 6 different cities: Chengdu, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai and Dalian.
The league will be played in a round robin system in each city from March to August 2006. With the titling sponsorship, the Chinese Central TV will broadcast live some of the key games during this year. It is the first time that the national TV televise the national futsal games organized by the CFA. The national TV broadcasted some of the university futsal games over the past few years. The opening ceremony is going to be held in Guangzhou, in which the Umbro‘s Chinese franchise is based, in March.
The new fixture is as follows:
- March 20-24, Guangzhou
- April 24-28, Wuhan
- May 29-June 2, Beijing
- July 17-21, Dalian
- August 14-18, Chengdu
- September 25-29, Shanghai
