UEFACapital contests to decide finalistsWednesday, 1 March 2006The dates for this month's UEFA Futsal Cup two-legged semi-finals have been confirmed with Madrid and Moscow to be the venues for the decisive return games.
Home rightBoomerang Interviú of Spain and MFK Dinamo Moskva of Russia have the right to stage the second legs after winning Groups A and B respectively in the second qualifying round earlier this year. Boomerang have been paired with Ukraine's FC Shakhtar Donetsk, runners-up in Group B where they knocked out holders Action 21 Charleroi, while Dinamo were drawn with Kairat Almaty, who finished second in Group A.
Almaty startIt is Kairat - the competition’s surprise package from Kazakhstan - who will get the final four under way against Dinamo at 13.30CET on 9 March at the Baluan Sholak Sport Palace in Almaty. The Kazakh team will expect strong support at home, not least after 40 diehard fans made the long trip to Lisbon in the previous round. The return in Russia will be played at the Druzhba sports hall, where Dinamo were pipped last year to the trophy by Charleroi, at 17.00CET on 24 March.
Final dateBoomerang, the 2003/04 winners, make the trip to Ukraine for their first leg in Donetsk's own Druzhba sports hall at 17.00CET on 11 March. The return fixture in the Spanish capital will follow on either 25 or 26 March, with the time and date to be confirmed on Monday. The winners of the two-legged ties will go forward to this year’s final, provisionally to be played in late April and early May.
