UEFA Futsal Committee chairman Petr Fousek has said the sport's growth around the world was proof that it had to be "taken seriously". He was speaking as a guest at a four-day course for Futsal referees and coaches in Malta, held under FIFA's auspices.
'Proven success'"The game of Futsal has got to be taken seriously. Proof of this success is the way the game is spreading all over the globe," Fousek told local club administrators in a talk on the organisation and implementation of Futsal. The course, run by the Malta Football Association Futsal Committee, comprised theoretical and practical sessions in coaching and refereeing, and included an insight into the technical development of the game.
'Augurs well'"I am very satisfied with the participation and the enthusiasm shown," said FIFA's Perry Gautier. "I have seen an enormous amount of willingness to learn about the game of Futsal and this augurs well. Well done to the local association for organising such a course in Malta. I am sure all those who attended will benefit immensely."
