Athina ’90 extended their streak in the play-off series and got three more points, this time at Doukas 2-8. The game was an easy task for the team from Kiffissia as the Doukas squad was playing without three key players making it very hard to claim anything from this game. Athina now leads the table after three games in the play-offs having gathered the maximum amount of points (9) and having won already two away games. They are expected as the absolute favourites for the title this year. This loss leaves Doukas out of the championship battle as they have not only fallen two games behind, but they are also facing many vital absences in the upcoming games. So at the turning point of the championship it all comes down to two remaining contenders, Athina and Platon, who will be facing off next Monday in the game that will probably decide the champion.
Platon had an easy afternoon against Asteras beating them 6-0 with a convincing performance. The home team was again missing team captain Lefteris Kouvaras but saw the rest of the squad pick up in intensity to seal off the first shut-out game of the season. Platon is now called to play the most important game of the season to prove whether they are capable of grabbing the title from the experienced Athina squad. Game is set for great futsal!!! Even though both teams have three games to play, this one will most certainly set the tone for the crown. Let's see what happens...
