The AFCIran take on Turkmenistan in AFC Futsal Championship opener 28 April 2006 KUALA LUMPUR: Iran will kick off their AFC Futsal Championship title defence against Turkmenistan on May 21 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The other encounters on a busy opening day pit Thailand against Indonesia, Japan versus Hong Kong, Tajikistan versus Iraq, Kyrgyzstan against Australia and Kuwait versus Lebanon.
Hosts Uzbekistan will start their campaign the next day against Malaysia.
Six matches will be played everyday from 12 noon to 2100 hours through May 21-24 in the single round robin league with the four top points earners advancing to the semifinals scheduled for May 26 (1600-2000 hours).
The third-fourth place playoff between the semifinal losers (1600-1800 hours) precedes the final (1800-2000 hours) on May 27.
