LAHORE: Twenty-six women footballers on Wednesday joined a national training camp started by the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) to prepare a strong outfit that will take part in an eight-day Futsal Tournament in Jordan. Camp commandant and coach Tariq Lutfi will impart training to the women players. Pakistan is making its international debut in a football-like sport, Futsal, by playing the tournament to be held in Jordan’s capital Amman from May 11-18.
The participating teams of the event are Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan and Jordan’s three clubs Orthodox Club, Amman Club and Shabab Ordon.
Prominent among the trainees are Kiran Illyas Ghouri, the first captain to lift winning trophy of National Women’s Football Championship and Sheka Nazir who struck the all-important goal in that final.
