The AFC.comFutsal friendly: Japan go down to Brazil 5 May 2006OSAKA: Japan national futsal team lost to Brazil 1-6 in a friendly here recently. The match was organised to prepare the Japanese team for the AFC Futsal Championship to be played in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from May 21 to 27.
Carlinhos opened the scoring for Brazil in the fourth minute and Jonas made it 3-0 with a quick brace in the 10th and 11th minutes. Kenichiro Kogure, who plays for Clipeus Nazareno in Spain, reduced the deficit for the hosts in the 19th minute. Falcao (25th minute), Guina (35th minute) and Valdin (37th minute) added three more goals for the visitors. Another friendly between the two teams will be played Tokyo on May 5.
‘’As I expected, Brazilians played more defensively but we made mistakes and conceded six goals,?Japan coach Sapo said after the match.
In the AFC Futsal Championship, Japan is in group B along with Tajikistan, Iraq and Hong Kong. Brazil finished third in the last FIFA Futsal World Championship 2004 in Chinese Taipei.
