Daily Times Misbah to lead Pakistan women’s squad at Futsal C’shipTuesday, May 09, 2006Staff Report
LAHORE: The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) on Monday named WAPDA’s Misbah Siddiqui as the first-ever captain of the Pakistan national women’s soccer team that will take part in the Women’s Futsal Championship to be played in Jordanian capital of Amman from May 11-18.
“PFF president Faisal Saleh Hayat, on the recommendations of PFF women’s wing chairperson Robina Irfan, has approved Misbah as captain of the team. The national squad will fly to Amman on May 10,” said a spokesman for the PFF here yesterday.
Sibi’s Shaista Laghari has been named vice captain of the team whose other members are Sheka Nazeer, Fahmida Habib, Shabana Kausar, Nadia Siraj, Azra Matloob, Farzana Mir, Riffat Mehdi, Maryam Laghari, Robina Kausar. Armaan Khan will be stand bye.
Robina Irfan will act as chef de mission. Diana Sharifi will act as manager while Tariq Lutfi and Sadia Sheikh will perform duty of coach and assistant coach respectively. Pakistan is making its international debut in Women’s Futsal Championship which will also be participated by Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan and Jordan’s three clubs – Orthodox Club, Amman Club and Shabab Ordon.
