Courtesy: UEFA.comShibaev rues 'decisive' first legSunday, 7 May 2006MFK Dinamo Moskva coach Aleksandr Shibaev was left to rue careless defending in the first leg after his players narrowly failed to overturn a 6-3 deficit in the UEFA Futsal Cup final. Despite a fine performance in Moscow, winning 4-3, Dinamo were unable to reel in Boomerang Interviú even after removing their goalkeeper late on and employing an extra outfield player. Shibaev's opposite number Jesús Candelas praised the Dinamo effort, admitting his side went into the game looking to sit back and defend their first-leg advantage. Aleksandr Shibaev, Dinamo coachWe played against the best club in the world. Having said that. It's no good talking about the quality of our opponents; we tried really hard but couldn't quite pull it off. Boomerang are a team of the highest class, and they punished us for the tiniest mistake. In the end, when we pulled our goalkeeper, we had a lot of possession and might have decided the game in our favour, but our lack of patience was our downfall, and the third goal against us ended our hopes. The tie was more or less decided in the first leg, when we conceded a completely unnecessary goal ten minutes before the end. In Madrid the game was wide open while here it was one-way traffic. That deprived us of our greatest strength, which is counterattacking.Jesús Candelas, Boomerang coachToday we played against our strongest opponents in the whole tournament, and I would like to congratulate Dinamo on a very good performance. We approached the game based on the result of the first leg. We didn't try to attack too much, and protected our lead instead. It was an even game, and we won thanks to the advantage we gained in the home leg. It is very hard to wipe out a three-goal deficit, especially when you are playing against strong opponents. I was quite surprised by how Dinamo did what my team normally does best – using a fifth attacker instead of a goalkeeper.Posted by Luca Ranocchiari --> luca.ranocchiari@futsalplanet.com
