The
Italian Serie A1 2005/2006 is coming to the end. The semifinals series, which ended this night with the Nepi's triumph in Genzano, determined an unusual final between
Arzignano Grifo and
Nepi. The 2003/2004 Italian champions are back to glory days after defeating the supposed champion
Alter Ego Luparense (Italian cup winner) in both matches. The
Fabian Lopez's team played two wonderful games deserving to reach the second final of its history: after winning with a clear 6-2 the first match at home, the perfect defence and counter-attack showed in the second battle in San Martino di Lupari awarded the white and red team with the qualification as well as with the derby honour. We definitely have to underline the performances of a futsal legend like
Marcio, who is still one of the best world player at the "tender age" of 38 (39 on May 21st!): a clear example of professionalism and talent during an endless career. Together with him Arzignano could enjoy the defensive skill of another Spain 96' world Champion,
Danilo, who could now win his second title in a row in Italy after the previous one with Perugia celebrated twelve months ago. The decisive saves of the argentinian national team keeper
Guisande, who made his debut with Arzignano in the first semifinal, the unreachable talent of the colombian star
Pinilla and the punctual goals of the italian pivot
Amoroso also made their contribution in the Arzignano's undertaking.
On the other side the
Agenore Maurizi's Nepi wrote an unforgettable page in the
Davide Ceci's club history, reaching the first ever league final, after conquering the italian cup in the past season. Nepi and Roma won a match each, and this evening in Genzano the third and final battle was characterized by an unbelievable performance of the gaucho's keeper
Angelo. The former UCS's goalie was beaten just one second before the end, after securing the Nepi's access to the final through a perfect match crowned with a double penalty scored at the end of the first half. Also the last signing
Jonas played an impressive match, as well as the "usual" captain
Hernan Garcias. The only bad point for Nepi was given by the red card showed on the bench to the greatest italian talent,
Luca Ippoliti, who will therefore miss the first game in Arzignano.
All is ready for the final act: who will win? Arzignano or Nepi? Stay on line on Futsalplanet.com and you will find out!
