IRNATop Iranian team, Rah Ahan, finished runner-up at a women's futsal tournament here MondayRah Ahan was beaten by Jordan's Al Shabab in the final showdown on penalties.
The two sides fought to a 3-3 draw in normal time and shootouts were deciding as the extra time ended in a 1-1 stalemate. Iran missed two penalties, but the host did not convert just one, lifting the trophy 9-8.
Three teams from the host country and seven from Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, and Palestine competed at the tourney.
Rah Ahan stood top in Iran's seven-strong inter-club league, winning 26 points.
Five national players are in the Rah Ahan squad.
