A disappointing news is coming from South America, where the Odepa organization (the one which manage the Olympic Sports in South American countries) through its president Mario Vázquez Raña communicated that Futsal could be not accepted in the "Panamericanos 2007" Games, to take place in Rio de Janeiro next year. That went out from the Odepa meeting recently held in Buenos Aires.

Mario Vázquez Raña told that futsal was introduced in the Games against its will and just for the brazilian members request.

During the meeting he declared, in a quite cryptic sentence: "There's a little problem with soccer, a committee has been formed to solve it. If they don't manage to do that, we will not include futsal in the Games"
