IBSA BLIND FUTSAL - SPAIN WINS THE INTERNATIONAL BERLIN CHALLENGE CUP 2006Spain's B1 futsal team has won the International Blind Challenge Cup 2006, held in Berlin, Germany, on Friday the 26th of May. The tournament featured four of the world's best blind futsal teams (Brazil, England, France and Spain) in a one-day competition aimed at raising the profile of the sport on the eve of the FIFA World Cup in Germany and introducing the game in Germany.
The Spanish team, led by captain Marcelo Rosado, defeated Paralympic champions Brazil 1-0 in an exciting final at a specially built blind futsal pitch at the Berlin Olympic Stadium. He was later presented with the trophy by German football legend Uwe Seeler at a ceremony in Potsdamer Platz in the centre of the German capital.

The tournament was preceded by blind futsal seminars involving twenty-eight male and female German players. They were taught the basics of the game over four days by coaching staff from the England national team and were given the opportunity to show their skills to the German public during a rest period at the tournament and in Potsdamer Platz.
