The Gatorade Futsal Bahamas League resumed its schedule this past Monday with two games as four of the five teams saw action at the DW Davis Gymnasium. Caledonia FC’s withdrawal from the league leaves an odd number and as a result, only two of the originally scheduled three matches were played. In the opening match of the day, Bears FC got their first victory of the season, defeating All Black 5-4 in a highly competitive match. The Bears got five goals from Keith Cargill in the victory, while All Black got their strikes from Vandyke Bethel (3), Emile Ledee (1) and Patrick Ward (1).
In the second match of the night, Cavalier FC defeated United FC 12-7 in a game that looked to be evenly matched, with the first half ending 5-5. Cavalier proceeded to get 7 second half goals while United could only manage 2 in reply to run out clear winners. Five goals from Lionel Haven, another 4 from Kevin Davies, 2 from Pierre Lafleur and 1 from Stephen Davies gave Cavalier their 12 goals, while Trevor McKenzie (3), Delroy Allen (2), Keith Jones (1) and Reynold Appoleon (1) were the scorers for United FC.
Monday, July 3rd will see Superior Warriors take on United FC at 7:00 pm, followed by All Black taking on Cavalier FC at 8:00 pm. The league will continue with games every Monday at the DW Davis Gymnasium as the action heats up towards another exciting conclusion as was experienced last year.
