It is with great honor that the FEDERAÇÃO PAULISTA DE FUTSAL, after two years of launching the campaign " WE WANT OLYMPIC FUTSAL ", has produced this dossier, which contains all the steps and actions that enhanced the credibility and prestige of this now global movement.

Futsal is a sport that attracts more and more participants and admirers throughout the world. As a successor of the so-called Futebol de Salao, Futsal has achieved great status and popularity since its inclusion as a sport regulated by FIFA (Federation International Football Association

This campaign, created by the Paulista Federation, has achieved great success and received support and collaboration worldwide. Futsal is no longer only a South American passion but it is also recognized and loved in all continents.

We truly believe that the inclusion of Futsal in the Olympic Games is of paramount importance. All the excitement and emotion that this game brings will be shared by millions of supporters worldwide.

Futsal has all the ingredients to be successful as an Olympic Sport. Grassroots programs, both male and female, are already in place as well as amateur and professional leagues throughout the world. Futsal is played over one hundred countries with millions of participating athletes as well as established clubs and leagues attracting a tremendous public following. In addition, Futsal has already proved to be a successful event as part of the Special Olympic Games.

Huge steps have been taken to establish Futsal as a sport of its own. As part of the 2002 South American Games, Futsal roared to stardom.

Futsal has recently been included as part of the 2007 Pan American Games to be held in Rio de Janeiro.

The movement "WE WANT OLYMPIC FUTSAL" represents not only the Brazilian love for the game, but also the passion, desire and hope of the world community to bring this world sport to Olympic status.

We wish that within the next few years our dream to witness Futsal as an Olympic event becomes a reality.
