Angolan National Team Win First Friendly


Lisboa, 07/14 - The Angolan five-a-side indoor soccer team thrashed on Thursday evening in Lisbon (Portugal), the club of Espírito Santo Bank, by 9-1.

This was the national team`s first test viewing their participation in the second edition of the World Cup (Mundialito 2006), to be played from July 19 to 23 in the Monte Gordo region, in Algarve (Portugal).

The first goal of the encounter came in the eighth minute through Manteiga, in an evenly levelled match.

Zezito, Paulo Sérgio, Didi, Nfunda and Zeca (with one each) scored the other goals, whilst Mário scored a hat trick. Oscar Soares scored the only goal for the Portuguese club.

This Friday, the Angolan team plays its second match (07pm) at Mira Flores pavilion against the team of Loures district.

In the inaugural match of the Mundialito, on July 19, Angola faces Croatia, for the Group 1, whilst Switzerland meets Mozambique in a Group 2 encounter.
