The StarFutsal feverJUST as football fever was running high among the public, futsal fever was coursing through Stamford’s futsal players.
The recent tournament took place at Stamford’s PJ campus.
There were four teams – Team A, B, My Team and the English Lion. The first match played by Team A and Team B started off rather slowly, but the game picked up in the second half. Team A finally had a thrilling 7-2 win over Team B.
The second game saw Team A pitting skills against the English Lion. There were some great shots from the English Lion’s Yusuf Jiang, who hails from Xinjiang in China. Despite Jiang’s best efforts, the English Lion lost to Team A.
The finals saw Team A and My Team playing against each other. Team A had a good goalkeeper in Hisham Ahmed from the Maldives, but My Team proved a formidable opponent.
“We had fun. That was our main objective,” said Hisham.
The tournament brought together Stamford’s students from different corners of the globe, including Southeast Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
