So Cal Futsal Academy Women Win 3rd US Futsal National Championship


Two So Cal Futsal Academy (SCFA) teams that were crowned the US Futsal Federation National Champions this past weekend at the 21st annual US National Championship Tournament held at the Anaheim Convention Center July 20-24.

SCFA Women's Select team won their 3rd straight (2004,2005, 2006) US Futsal Federation National Championship.

Team Captain, Jennifer Tanaka and Lauren Robertson both scored goals in the Championship match versus Lealta FC of Pennsyvania to send the game into overtime where SCFA prevailed in Extra Time to secure their 3rd consequtive National Championship.

The (SCFA) Girls U/19 team also were crowned the United States Futsal Federation National Champions this past weekend at the Anaheim Convention Center. They defeated a tough San Francisco Cosmos team 3-2 in the final.

SCFA Technical Director Garett Hoshijo has led SCFA teams to 7 US National Titles in the last 4 years.
