Help for future futsal hosts

Wednesday, 16 August 2006

UEFA has produced a club manual for the UEFA Futsal Cup to help all European teams have the chance of hosting future tournaments.

Extensive briefing
The manual follows the successful workshop staged in Nyon on 5 July, when the clubs who will stage the 2006/07 UEFA Futsal Cup preliminary and main rounds were given an extensive briefing about what is required. UEFA Futsal manager Laurent Morel said: "The aim of this manual is to assist club in organising tournaments to UEFA requirements. This is a user-friendly tool to be used as much as possible. It should not only strengthen the competition, but also help clubs to efficiently use UEFA resources."

The manual is designed to help clubs:
• organise high-level mini-tournaments (qualifying rounds)
• organise high-level finals (final four)
• provide visiting teams, referees and UEFA representatives with the highest possible level of service
• provide the participating teams with the best possible conditions
• provide modern and adequate infrastructure that meet player expectation
• ensure the same level of organisation can be found throughout Europe
• promote the matches and, consequently, realise maximum hall attendances and media coverage
• realise their commercial potential

Good luck
All clubs staging mini-tournaments in this year's edition will receive a hard copy of the manual, including a comprehensive CD featuring useful competition templates. "We wish a successful organisation to the hosts and the best of luck to all competing teams," concluded Morel, with less than a month to go until the sixth edition of the Futsal Cup gets started . Anyone wanting to download a copy of the manual, can do so by clicking here.
