BAHRAIN's national under-17 futsal team will take on China in the 40th International Children Games commencing today at 2pm (Bahrain time) at the Bangkok Youth Centre in Thailand.

Eight players will represent the Kingdom at the futsal competition. The nucleus of the side are members of the Bahrain team which won the Umbro International Football Under-13 Cup in Manchester, England last month.

Coached by Zaher Al Asbool, the team will be relying on exceptional young talents such as Salman Ahmed Al Dakheel, Sayed Dhiya Shubar and Ali Habib Haj against favourites China.

Al Asbool said the team is ready for today's opening test and are looking forward to this crucial match. A total of 16 teams are taking part in this competition and were divided into four groups of four teams each. Bahrain were drawn with Poland, South Korea and China. The group winners and runners-up qualify for the quarter-finals.
