FIJI'S bid to host the Oceania World Cup five-a-side qualifiers will start off tomorrow when the FUTSAL Inter District Championship kicks-off at the FMF Dome.

Fiji Football Association FUTSAL secretary Jainendra Sukhu said there were talks being held between them and Oceania Football Federation to try and to stage the qualifiers in the country.

"Our president is holding talks with the Oceania body and we hope Fiji will be given the go ahead," Sukhu said.

"The FMF Dome is similar to the courts we play on in overseas."

Meanwhile, the Sun and Sharma's Insurance IDC will see majority of the Super Premier district players playing for their respective sides.

Sukhu said Suva would have the services of the likes of Dinesh Mudaliar and Azmat Begg while Navua was fielding all its stars like Lorima Dau, Pita Bolatoga, Taniela Waqa and Simione Tamanisau.

Star Suva striker Joseph Nimaraiu will play for the Pillays Garments Port Villa side made up of students from Vanuatu studying at the University of the South Pacific.

"We expect tough competition and all teams and players are fresh from the recent BOG," he said.

Defending champions Tailevu Naitasiri will have to fight hard to take out the first prize of $1000.

Nadi and Nadroga will fly the West flag at the tourney.
