The Russian motor is not slowing down

In the deciding game of supremacy in the C group, the Russian representatives defeated the Czech Republic (3:0).

We could see a lot of anxiety in the play of both teams. The Czech team got a hold of them self’s first, creating more and more dangerous situations under the Russian Federations goal. The Czech players attacked more frequently, but the shots made by the Russian Federations team are more accurate. The players who scored the goals ware: Sizov (2) and Shayakhmetov. And so their team was leading 3:0 in the first half.

After the break the spectators, could not complain about the lack of excitement. Ta the begining the Russian Federation player received a “red card”, moments later the first but not last points in the game was shot by Pavel Lalek. The Czechen player’s did not stand around, scoring points in the 26 and 30 minute. The scorers were: Player and Formanek. The players of the Czech team ware so determined on tying, the they completely forgot about their defense. Euphoria in the “Arena”

In the last match in the group A, which was deciding, Poland defeated Serbia and Montenegro 6:5 (3:3).

Knowing the results of the earlier confrontations both teams were aware that the looser of that match will meet with the favourite – Ukraine, and the winner will meet – Portugal. But what was underlined before the match by the coach Aftanski, the Polish team do not play to calculate. Yet in the second minute the goal was scored by Daniel Lebiedzinski. The joy of the Polish team did not last long because of Perić goal scored after a minute. The Polish team could not get together after the loss of goal when suddenly the ball landed in the Polish goalkeeper’s net. After that polish team started to attack more often what resulted in a goal by Daniel Lebiedzinski who proved to be the hero of the match. The host team continued their good pass and two minutes later the third goal was scored by Kusiak. The joy did not last log again. Strasić balanced the result and shortly after that made his team to win. The Polish team shown their character by making a tie. The Polish coach took the goalkeeper of. In the last minute the result was settled by Michal Kusiak who scored the penalty kick. The audience was delighted. So this winning ensured the Polish team the first place in the group A so Poland will meet Portugal in the next match.

They said after the match:

Head of Delegation of Serbia and Montenegro, Zoran Dencić:

“ We lost this match because of our poor play. We did not take the advantage of many promising situations. Winning this match was in our hands but we were to weak to reach our goal. We wanted to meet with Portugal in the further game not with Ukraine, which is predicted to be the winner of this Championships. I hope we will by more lucky next time. I wish Poland all the best and I’m hoping that will get far.”

Coach of the Polish team: T. Aftanski:

”I would like to thank the audience numerously gathered. For that kind of fans if worth to play. I want to thank them that they are with us. Our aim before the tournament that in each match we played only to win. In the national team which I lead we want to get away from playing just for playing. In the next match, with Portugal we also fight for winning. Taking the goalkeeper from the pitch was a risky move but on the other hand we had nothing to lose. As far the opponents are concerned I believe that their team is extremely good. Ukraine will not sleep well this night as the team of Serbia and Montenegro will cause trouble.”

The captain of the Polish national team: Klaudiusz Hirsch:

“I’m grateful to all fans. This match was very hard for us. There were moments in which we felt exhausted, but the audience helped us a lot. Our strong will to win proved to be the most important for us because we felt we had not enough skills and health.”

An Exotic Match

In the last duel in the group D the Chinese team, tied with the representation of Kyrgyzstan 4:4.

We can say that there were two sides to this match. In the first half the Kyrgyzstan team had full control over the game, which relentlessly attacked the opposing team goal. In result of these actions Kyrgyzstan team quickly gained four points. Which as it seemed, at that point, were to ensure the victory for Kyrgyzstan.

But again the old football proverb came out to be true, that it is an unpredictable sport and that it changes like the wind. The Chinese were dominating after the break, driven to achieve a tie at all costs. Their efforts were finally rewarded. They managed to score the tying goal twenty seconds before the end of the match. The representation of China could have won this match, but they failed to score the penalty goal. Non-the-less both teams are leaving the tournament, achieving the third and the fourth place in the group. Ukraine and Portugal are the teams of D group, which got to the quarter finals

Moroccan Chase

In the last match in group C, the Croatian team defeated the team of Morocco 7:6

Spectacular turning points, many goals – is what we can say briefly about the match between the Croatian and Moroccan.
In the beginning the better shape and willingness to win was shown by the Croatian team. They quickly took the lead and systematically increased their advantage. The fist half of the match ended with the result 7:1. It seemed that the match is over, but as we all know the match ends with the last whistle of the referee. That saying was proven to be by the Morocco team who in the second half having nothing to lose started to catch up with the rival team. They played faster, more effectively and dynamically. That led to the confusion of the Croatian players who only tried to attack from time to time. Eventually, after a very dramatic fight the Moroccan Chase was a failure. (Croatia – Morocco 7:6)

Chinese Taipei’s disability

During the last match in group A, Kazakhstan team defeated the Chinese Taipei team (5:0).

The result of the match does not reflect the situation on the pitch. The play was very tight and equalized. The emotions that accompanied this game were very strong, more than expected. Kazakhstan was playing wisely from the technical point of view, effectively taking advantage of rivals’ errors. The Chinese Taipei team played ambitiously and bravely, unfortunately it was not enough even for scoring a single goal. Finally, Kazakhstan defeated Chinese Taipei 5:0. Earlier from the group A the teams of Poland, Serbia and Montenegro ensured the qualification to the further games. The Kazakhstan team was third and the Chinese Taipei was fourth.

Fans votes as to the winner of the 10th World University Futsal Championship

Piotr Kopaczewski – member of the Polish Football Federation futsal committee

I definitely put my vote for the representation of Ukraine. It is easy to see that the best performance is shown by the Ukrainian team. Non of the other teams can put up an equal fight. The Polish team has made great progress, even now they are in the leading eight. I believe that the advancement to the top four will be the highlight of this event.

Zenon Jazierski - second coach of the Polish national team

I can pick three teams- Ukraine, after their results we can see the level of their game play. The Russian Federation, the Brazilian team is a bit of a disappointment, I see they have similar team squads, as they had two years ago. Never the less I vote for the team of Ukraine. For the Polish team, making it into the top five, will be a huge success. Last time we made it to the top ten, landing at number seven. Jumping up two levels is a bit accomplishment.

Tomasz Szponder- chairman of the Organizing Committee

In my opinion Ukraine will win, they display a high skill level and score a lot of goals. As to the Polish team, I saw two games, they are a bit weaker the top four team’s.

Rafal- head of the Polish team

My favorites for the World University Championship in futsal are the teams of: Ukraine, Russian Federation and Brazil. I hope that we are also considered a strong adversary by the other teams, the minimal requirements are met, now it can only get better. I was positively surprised but the Krzesiny stadium and the cheering of our vastly gathered fans. Although the team members just meet, their relationships are positive.

Wojtek- masseuse of the Polish team

If referring to the aspect of sportsmanship, we can bet on the teams: the Russian Federation, Ukraine and Brazil. And a surprise worth mentioning is off course organization.

Piotr- player of the Polish team

The teams that I my self would bet on are: Ukraine and the Russian Federation, they have more player from the first squad. I was a bit disappointed by the team of Brazil. I did not see all their matches but looking at the score, they will most likely be the third power in this event.

Damian- team guide of the Slovakian team.

The level of these championship is high in my opinion, as to my favorite is off course Slovakia (laughter). The Brazilian team has very interesting way of playing. The Russian Federation can be most certainly called a steam roller-the run all their adversaries flat.

Joanna- catering member

Watching, not all unfortunately, games, I can easily say that my vote goes for the team of Brazil, but the Portuguese team is also very good. Off course I would love if the Polish team won the championship, but I cannot watch their matches live.
