Real horror

In sport it’s like in life – one wins, another looses. Today we won, Portuguese must have swallowed the defeat. In the last quarter-final we won…. The goal, which decided about the victory was scored in the last minute before the end of the game.

Today since 19 pm in Arena Hall both teams organized a big hunting for a victory. However the match had 2 sides. In the first half the advantage on the pitch definitely had the Portuguese team, which proved that with one goal scored. During the break our players must have heard hard words from their coach Tomasz Aftański, because in the second half we have seen totally different team. Polish plays started to be coherent, and because of that our rivals were pushed to defense. The contact goal scored Michal Kusiak. Then again Portugal team took the floor and their scored the second goal. M. Kusiak took the role of executor that day, because it was again he who scored the goal for a tie. In this match there was one more situation, when we were loosing and we had to make up for the result. It was 3:2 for Portugal and we did it. This time on the list of the scorers we put the name of Daniel Lebiedziński. Since that moment the real play shoot for shoot has started. The plays has been moving in a second from one the one goal to another. The deciding goal scored 60 seconds before the end of the match Robert Nazarewicz. That caused the rage of joy from the gathered and hot supporting public. People were jumping for joy after the last whistle of the referee. The public run on the floor and enjoyed the victory with the players, however .. some of them must have found the last bed of energy. “I have no power to enjoy the victory – said after the match Piotr Szymura, the player of Polish Representation. – We are mentally strong, because that’s another match that we won in the end of the game.” – he added with a smile. We hope, that our boys will keep this ability in semi-final, although for the nerves of public it would be better that they provide the victory earlier. Even Hitchkok, the master of thrillers, wouldn’t be ashamed with the finish of today play.

Great Russia victory

This performance was not a gripping. In the following match concerning the promotion to the semifinals the team from Russia easily defeated the team from Slovenia.

First minutes of this quarterfinal was full of real fight. Players very often stepped against the rules. There were a few well-organized actions, that is why the game was not smooth. Academics from Russia in that period, which could be characterized by foul play, started to take control over the match. That gave 2 goals to Russia shot in short interval and till the end of the first half of the match they scored third goal. In the second half match image did not change. Slovenian players were not able to catch up with the rivals and as the consequence they lost more goals. They managed to shot a goal for their consolation only. Unfortunately, it was everything they could do. Russian team played in a risky manner with determination and willingness to win. That shows that they are likely to be the surprise of the championship
