Poznan 2006 - World University Futsal Champs - Official Web Site02.09.2006 There was no miracle „The Russian team is the best in the world. Our winning would be a miracle.” – said after the match Klaudiusz Hirsch – the captain of the Polish team. The Russian team is playing tomorrow with Brazil.
The match was dominated by the Russian players. After four minutes they led 2:0. The Polish team seemed to feel exhausted after the yesterday’s tough match with Portugal. They managed to score only one goal in the first half. (Daniel Lebiedzinski) After the break the situation on the pitch did not change. The result was 10:3 for the Russian team. Olga Ivanova – the coach of the Russian team: “The Polish players show the great progress in futsal.”
The Polish team is playing tomorrow for the third place with Ukraine.
02.09.2006 Slovakia vs. Kyrgyzstan In the last Saturday’s match Kyrgyzstan defeated unexpectedly the team from Slovakia.
Again there was no result in the regular time although ten goals were scored.. The spectators enjoyed the match a lot as the way of playing was fast and effective. The result after penalty kicks: 6:5 for Kyrgyzstan
02.09.2006 Portugal vs. Slovenia In the second match for 5 to 8 place Slovenia defeated Portugal after the penalty kicks 4:2. In the regular time the result was 4:4.
Before the break the Portugal team was dominating on the pitch. The captain of the Portugal team Ricardo Caturra played vigorously. He scored two goals and had an assist what gave Portugal two goals in advantage because the Slovenian team responded with one goal only. After the break the leadership reversed. It was the Slovenian team who three times defeated the goalkeeper and started to win. Players from Portugal managed to tie and penalty shots were necessary to decide about the final result. However, there was a big chance for the Slovenian team because Goncalo Barao had to leave the pitch after seeing a red card. The Slovenian team excelled at the penalty shots. Portugal missed the goal twice.
Tomorrow Serbia and Montenegro and Slovenia are playing for the 5th place.
02.09.2006 Serbia and Montenegro vs Czech Republic If the medals were to be given for the most spectacular goals, the representation of Serbia and Montenegro would definitely be the Champion of this tournament. In the match for places 5 to 8 Serbia and Montenegro defeated smoothly the Czech Republic 6 to 2.
Both teams were exhausted after the yesterday’s lost quater –finals. The first 10 minutes were boring. In the 13th minute of the game the first goal for Serbia and Montenegro was scored by Marko Peric. Undoubtedly he was the best player of the duel from whom most actions started. During the next two minutes two more goals were scored by the Serbia and Montenegro team. The Czech Republic team responded with only one accurate attack made by David Fric. The second half looked similar. The Czech Republic team managed to score only one more goal and their rivals three
02.09.2006 Brazil in the finals Pele began his carrier on small fields. Today he is know as the best player in history. Here in the Arena stadium we can also see a player with such a nickname. Who knows maybe he will once play in the first representation of Brazil. Today he led his team to victory over the representation of Ukraine, and tomorrow we will see his uncanny skill in the final match of the championship.
The first important situation was when the player Aeksander Khursov received a red card. This advantage was immediately used by the Brazilian team, especially the player Edinho. After two minutes the same player scored a second goal increasing his teams lead to 2:0. The Brazilian team continued to score more points. The third goal was shot by Tinho during a three-some play with his two team mates Pele and Joao. The fifth and seventh goal was shot by ,non other then, Pele. This guy has it all and outmaneuvers his enemies as if they ware slalom posts. In the end the score was 7:2 for the Brazilian team, which we will see in the finals.
02.09.2006 Great Britain vs. China In the next match of 10th World University Futsal Championship the Great Britain team defeated the China team 7:6 (3:3).
In the beginning of the duel the Great Britain team was dominating on the pitch. They took the lead after the two goals scored by Rodman. It all seemed that the audience in the Krzesiny Hall would witness the Great Britain spectacular victory, but the China representation managed to score their first goal. The first half ended with the tie 3:3.
The second half begun with the dynamic and energetic way of playing presented by the Great Britain team. They increased their advantage. Although the Chinese team presented determination and willing to win they did not managed to reach a tie again. Great Britain defeated China 7:6 (3:3).

02.09.2006 “It ended with Penalties again” In another match of the 10th World University Futsal Championship the Croatian team defeated after the penalty kicks the Kazakhstan team.
It was the game with many goals, cards and boxing duels. In the first half Kazakhstan was dominating on the pitch. The first half ended with the result 2:0 for the Croatian team.
After the break the situation on the pitch changed. Both teams were playing aggressively what was reflected in many cards. The players seemed to be nervous and irritated. In the middle of the second half there was a regular box duel on the pitch. After calming down the Kazakhstan team scored three more goals but a moment of losing concentration cost them the loss of the advantage. The Croatian team reached a tie. About the result of the match decided again the penalty kicks. Croatia – Kazakhstan 5:4
02.09.2006 Morocco vs. Chinese Taipei Morocco after the penalty kicks defeated Chinese Taipei 4:3.
Both teams provided the audience gathered in the Krzesiny Hall a spectacular match. The first goal was scored by the player from the Chinese Taipei team – Shih. The tie was reached after the goal scored by Doublali. The Moroccan team stared to dominate on the pitch. They lost only one goal in the first half. The result before the break was 3:2 for the Moroccan team. The second half begun with the goal for Chinese Taipei. Chien-Ying reached a tie. After the following goals scored by both teams the tie was held. The result of the match was determined after the penalty kicks. The Morocco team won 4:3.
