Doncaster College for the Deaf's dream of UEFA Futsal Championship glory is still alive despite losing their first game in Andorra.

On Wednesday Doncaster, led by captain Daniel Hogan, were outgunned 7-2 by Granvalira FC Encamp who opened the game by scoring five goals before the English team found the net.

Alistair Dalziel scored Doncaster's two goals, but Encamp ran out comfortable winners.

Doncaster, champions of the FA National Futsal Cup in 2005, have two preliminary round games left against Toligma Chisinau and Uni Futsal Bulle.

Doncaster are the first disability team to get to such a high level in a mainstream event and are the only team to represent England this year. If they qualify for the next round, they will be the first English team to get that far.

The UEFA Futsal Cup, which is in its sixth year, sees the top teams from around Europe competing against each other. With 40 entrants from 39 different nations, this year's competition is the biggest yet.

The competition starts with 16 teams competing in the preliminary round in September - the top four will then go on to the qualifying round with 20 other teams in October.

The top 12 from this round will go on to the elite round in December. In April the final stages will take place with the semi-finals, third place play-off and final happening over an exciting week.
