As reported by
Pedro Catita (Infordesporto Sapo) on past saturday, september 16th, the well known portuguese referee
António Cardoso has reached the
150º international match directed in his brilliant career. The prestigious record arrived through the UEFA Futsal Cup preliminary round in Andorra La Vella.
Cardoso is currently the "recordman" between the active referees, and in the "absolute" standing is just second after the "unreachable"
Pedro Galan Nieto (more than 300 matches directed).
Definitely a satisfactory result for one of the best futsal referees of all times: FIFA instructor, member of the UEFA Top-Class group, Cardoso became an international referee in 98.
Cardoso took part in the most important competitions all around the world, including the following ones, as reminded by Pedro Catita:
2001 Champions league - Segovia (Spain)
2001 European Futsal Champs - Moscow (Russia)
2002 UEFA Futsal Cup Final Stage - Lisbon (Portugal)
2002 Mundialito Reggio Calabria (Italy)
2003 European Futsal Champs - Caserta/Aversa (Italy)
2004 Intercontinental Cup - Barcelona (Spain)
2005 European Futsal Champs - Ostrava (Czech Republic)
As a whole staff of Futsalplanet.com we wish to express our congratulations to
Antonio "Tozè" Cardoso, waiting for the next 150 games! Parabens Antonio! Keep up the great work!
