Concacaf.comCosta Rica & Guatemala travel to Ecuador for Tournament29.9.06 - In preparations for the CONCACAF Futsal Qualifiers to the 2007 Pan American Games, Costa Rica and Guatemala will travel to Ecuador to compete in a six-team tournament (Fedeguavas 2006) next month at the Roberto Gilbert Febres Cordero Complex.
The event will have Costa Rica, Peru and Ecuador’s Guayas in Group A, while Group B consists of Hosts, Ecuador, Guatemala and Pichincha (ECU).
The ticos open tournament play on 7 October against Guayas at 10:00, while the chapines take on the home team at 11:30.
After the Guayas' squad and Peru meet at 10:00 the next day (8 October), Guatemala will take on club Pichincha at 11:30.
The first round ends on 9 October with Costa Rica against Peru at 10:00 and then Pichincha facing Ecuador at 11:30.
The top two from each group will advance to the semifinals on 11 October with matches scheduled for 19:00 and 20:30, respectively. Prior to the Semifinals, the two third place group finishers will meet in the fifth place match at 17:00.
The tournament’s third-place encounter is scheduled for 12 October at 19:00, with the final set for 20:30.
