Even when the humidity from the rains yesterday made the floor at the Guam sports complex gym slippery, the Strykers (6-4) still found their footing and clobbered the ASC DeYo (6-2) 9-1 during GFA Bud Light Women's Futsal League action in Harmon.
Koharu Minato led the Strykers with three goals.
Rhoda Bamba, Michele Presnell, Esther Chung, Terea Tapu, Kyung Quan and Nichole Paulino all added one goal apiece.
In the losing effort, Davina Borja scored the lone goal for the ASC DeYo's.
"While some people think the games should have been rescheduled, some players had fun with the challenge," said Cheri Stewart, league coordinator.
She added that the games were more like ice-skating performances than futsal games, with players trying to maintain their balance and stance throughout the games.
"I viewed this as an ice-skating performance --giving scores to those who had the least falls and best pirouettes when scoring," Stewart said. "It was comical at times, but can be nerve racking too."
In other league action:
Orange Crushers (5-1-1) 4, Tigers (4-0-2) 1: Anjelica Perez led the Crushers with two goals. Jennifer Farley and Simie Willter added one each. Alexy Barbe scored for the Tigers.
Hyundai (4-0-2) 7, Quality Distributors (1-0-4) 1: Tanya Blas-Cruz scored three goals for the Hyundai. Leann Meeks added two with Amber Rabena and Ashley Besagar helping with one goal apiece. Cami Sablan scored for the Quality.
Guam Shipyard (6-0-1) 6, Dimension Systems (0-1-5) 1: Gina Naburn led her team with three goals, while Victoria Shimizu chipped in two. Roze San Nicolas also helped with a goal. Faith Mendiola scored for Dimension.
Stewart, league coordinator, provided the information.
