COSTA RICA & GUATEMALA OPEN ECUADOR TOURNAMENT WITH LOSSES

In preparations of the CONCACAF Futsal Qualifiers to the 2007 Pan American Games, Costa Rica and Guatemala opened the Fedeguavas Cup 2006 Tournament with losses to Peru and the host Ecuador at the Roberto Gilbert Febres Cordero Complex in Guayaquil on 8 October.

Ecuador posted a 3:2 win over Guatemala in the first encounter of Group A, while Peru topped Costa Rica by a score of 4:3 in Group B.

The chapines concluded group play on 9 October with a 5:0 victory over Pichincha of Ecuador at the Roberto Gilbert Febres Cordero Complex.

Meanwhile, the ticos will look for their first win in Group A as they face Guayas of Ecuador in Guayaquil on 10 October.
