Delighted dozen book their place

The last places in the 16-team UEFA Futsal Cup Elite round were filled today, meaning all is now in place for the draw from 14.00CET on 3 November when the top four seeds enter the competition.

Hectic week
Twelve teams won through from the Main round over the last week, including former semi-finalists Sporting Clube de Portugal, Kairat Almaty, FC Shakhtar Donetsk and MNK Split. Along with Sporting and Shakhtar, Araz Naxçivan of Azerbaijan and Dorozhnik Minsk of Belarus were the only other teams to record maximum points - further underlining the growth of futsal in their countries. Perhaps the most thrilling section was Group 6, where three teams finished level on six points as KMF Marbo Beograd and CIP Deva just edged out FC Marlène Kras Ster.

Top seeds enter
The delighted dozen join the four top seeds - holders Boomerang Interviú, the beaten finalists over the last two seasons MFK Dinamo Moskva, 2004/05 winners Action 21 Charleroi and Spanish champions El Pozo Murcia - in the Elite round, which will consist of four groups of four teams to be played between 4-10 December. The teams finishing top will advance to the new Final Four competition from 26-28 April, with the hosts to be picked from among their number.

Draw procedure
Boomerang, Dinamo, Charleroi and Murcia will each be placed in separate groups for the draw. The next two pots will consist of the six group winners and six runners-up, so two groups will contain two group winners and one runner-up, and vice versa for the remaining pools. However, no teams that met in the Main round can be drawn with each other.
