Extremely interesting news coming from Belgium, through our friend and collaborator
Cedric Bouillon. According to
Futsal Echo the Turkish FA have asked to the former Brussels UTD president
Rahim Hacikerimoglu to examine the "belgian market" in order to find players with turkish origins, who could be selected for the national team, which is going to make its debut for the European Champs Qualifying round (Turkey will face Finland, Albania and Armenia in the preliminary group A).
After a first formal contact during the past week, some players declared to be interested in joining the turkish national team, though waiting for an official convocation. We're talking about Huseyin
Yildiz (goalie of GDL Châtelet), Cemil
Hacikerimoglu, Abdullah
Icel, Denis
Kastrat (Brussels UTD), Murat
Duzgun (Hildas Beringen), Kemal
Eryigit, Aziz
Saglam (ONU Seraing), Gokhan
Yilmaz (ONU Seraing)
On the "limbourgeois" side, will be Metin
Topal (belgian/turkish player of Hildas Beringen) the person in charge to contact possible candidates like
Atakan Ergun, Gokhan Kabaoz, Ilhami Kodalci and
Servet Yazgan.
Omer Kaner, Turkish futsal committee president, will travel towards Belgium in the next days, in order to complete this project.
