Catholic Youth Futsal League ready for the new season

The Catholic Youth Futsal League in Fall River is now finalizing registrations for players and teams for the upcoming 2006-2007 Futsal season. They continue to invite all local area Catholic Diocesan Grade School children to participate in this fun, fantastic and growing indoor soccer program run on Saturdays at the Lafrance Gymnasium on the campus of Bishop Connolly High School, 373 Elsbree St., Fall River. This will be their 4th season of games and it will be a largest season yet. John Kinnane of the Catholic Youth Futsal League announced, "We are very glad to note that the folks at Holy Trinity School have decided to have their children participate this year and with the help of a group of parents and faculty, which was spear headed by Mr. & Mrs. Dean Carlson, they've registered 4 teams. This is a wonderful testament to the program, that so many children from Holy Trinity are excited about playing, says Mr. Kinnane. Dean and Melissa Carlson have had their children participate in the local Futsal league in the past few years and wanted to help make the Holy Trinity School act ive participants in the program. "They have done so in splendid fashion", adds Kinnane.

The program at Bishop Connolly consists of 12 regular season games played on Saturday afternoons and early evenings. Holiday and vacation weekends are avoided. The 13th week is the ever popular olympic-style playoff and pizza dinner party and is extremely well attended and lots of fun for all who attend.
