First Lusofonia Games are over

The first Portuguese-speaking games have closed in the Macao Special Administrative Region today(Sunday). Brazil ranks on the top of the medals with 29 gold medals.

The closing ceremony was held in the Macao East Asian Stadium, the largest stadium in the SAR. With an overwhelming advantage in athletics, futsal and beach volleyball, Brazil took 57 out of 153.

Portugal holds the second position in the medal tally with 21 golden medals in total.

The host of the games, Macao, has 14 medals.

Many of the athletes are amateurs, and didn't leave any mark in the games. But the event plays an important role in promoting the Portuguese speaking community.

Macao sports development board president said: "From the organization of the games, we have gained plenty of experience for hosting international games. And we also have gained plenty of experience for hosting international games. And we also have support from the central government. We are very confident that the games in the years to come will be better and better."

China Central television was charged with the game's television singal transfer.
