As we reported some day ago, the spanish division de honor club
Lobelle de Santiago will host the next edition of the international tournament
Recopa Cup, "dedicated" to the european national cup winners. As in the past season, six clubs will characterize the final stage in Santiago De Compostela, but since this edition there will be also a preliminary round with six more clubs, to take place in Zrenjanin (Serbia) between November 30th and December 3rd.
The final stage is planned for January 25th-28th and will see the presence of the host club
Lobelle de Santiago, as well as the Recopa Cup holder
Azkar Lugo. Italian, Portuguese and Russian cup holders will guarantee the high level of the tournament: we're obviously talking about
Alter Ego Luparense,
SL Benfica and
Spartak Shelkovo. The sixth club will therefore come from the preliminary group, which should see the presence of
SAS Zrenjanin (host club) as well as, still waiting for an official confirmation, the following clubs:
Oplast Kobarid (Slovenia),
KMF Partizan Sarajevo (Bosnia & Herzegovina, available to play as the UEFA Futsal Cup "adventure" is ended),
Promet Orkan Zagreb (Croatian runner up, as the holder Split will take part in the elite round of the UEFA Cup),
Colorspectrum Aramis (Hungarian runner up, as Godolloi Futsal Klub entered the Elite round as well) and
Energoconstructia Craiova (Romania).
The tournament formula will not change during the final round: six teams splitted into two groups of three, with both winners fighting for the title in the final match.
