Amber Rabena's goal with less than two minutes left in regulation turned out to be the game-winner as Hyundai defeated the Tigers 2-1 in the quarterfinals of the Bud Light Women's Futsal League.
It was a mild upset as the Tigers, the No. 4 seed, won the last meeting with the fifth-seeded Hyundai.
In yesterday's match, Tanya Blas-Cruz put Hyundai up just five and a half minutes in and it stayed that way until the halftime break. Then three minutes after the restart, Caroline Quigley found the back of the net with a blast from the top of the arc to bring the teams back on level terms.
Just as the match seemed destined for extra time, Rabena knocked home the winner with 1:33 left on the clock.
"It feels good to win, but I think (the goal) was all luck," Rabena said with a grin. "I just swung, I didn't aim."
Be that as it may, the goal ensured Hyundai a place in the semifinals against the top-seeded Orange Crushers. The playoffs are slated to continue on Nov. 19.

No. 3 Strykers 5, No. 6 ASC DeYo 3: Koharu Minato, Rachel Landfried, Terea Tapu, Amanda Mesa and Michelle Presnell all scored a goal for the Strykers, who will face Shipyard in the other semifinal. Christina Philistine led DeYo with a brace while teammate Charisse Bolabola added the other goal.
