Hellenic league - round 6

Day 6 of the Hellenic Championship was completed yesterday with no major surprises as all the favourites managed to get three points. In Ilioupoli the home team managed to break the spell and get their first home win against Iniohos 5-1 with the international Kostas Stamatiou leading the way with an excellent performance which was acknowledged by three personal goals.
The home team kept compact and went for the win with confidence against a team which was counting three wins in a row.
Athina ’90 had no troubles in overcoming the strong resistance of Gerakas 4-0. The current Champions have concluded a series of hard matches in the past couple of weeks after their Futsal Cup experience, and have managed to come away with solid victories. Salamina got their three points without competing against the withdrawn team of Ermis and continue to lead the table. Platon managed to overcome the resistance of Aeas 1-3 and get back on track in the league. Morfesis lead the way for the guests with a personal second half goal to pave the way for his team. In the toughest game of the day Ethnikos Asteras got the win against Kosmos 8-6 with a great performance by Spiros Gritzalis who tallied 5 goals for the home team. Ethnikos Asteras is picking up their game and seems to be getting back on track for the play-offs after a slow start. Finally Doukas has returned to victory with an important win against Minotavros 4-2. Lioutas scored twice to give his team a lead that was kept till the end. The Championship is interrupted this week by the Hellenic Cup which will be played next Monday with the “elite eight” round. The Championship resumes in two weeks with two derbies between Platon vs Doukas and Athina ’90 against Ethnikos Asteras.
