Futsal crazy Alex roars in friendlies

AN EX-Solihull School pupil has won two full England caps after representing the Three Lions at futsal.

Alex Rodman, of Chadwick End, played in two friendly internationals against Poland in the exciting five-a-side version of football.

Futsal, which is popular in Europe, South America and Asia, is a non-contact game played with a specially designed ball that has 30 per cent less bounce than a conventional ball.

The 19-year-old, a student at Nottingham Trent University, has also been picked for an up-andcoming four-team tournament in Belguim.

Alex, who plays for Unibond League outfit Grantham Town, also represented Great Britain Universities in the World University Futsal Championships in Poland.
