Interview with Zoltan Balazs

How did you find Romania and Odorheiu Secuiesc?
"I like your country, I found here a good team, a professional one. The other players are good players and I can say we are a family."

Can you compare Romanian Championship with Hungarian one?
"In Romania there is a strong championship with good players. I think the difference is that in Romania there are very quick players and in Hungary futsal is more technical and tactics are very important for Hungarian teams."

You are probably the best player ever played in Romanian Championship. You could play for Benfica or Charleroi but you choose Odorheiu Secuiesc
"I had an offer from Benfica but it was not something very serious. In Belgium I played one game for Charleroi but I had some problems with my work agreement. I came to Odorheiu Secuiesc because it is a good oportunity for me and the team management made me a serious offer."

Do you think this is a good choice for you? I mean you was the best goalkeeper in Europe at the last European Championship and you came in Romanian Championship that is not one of the top championships of Europe.
"I choose to come here because it is a professional team. Here I am only playing futsal so I can grow. In Hungary I had to work, to play soccer and after that I was playing futsal."

How did you find Romania and Odorheiu Secuiesc?
"Romania it’s a lovely country with some beautiful cities. It is a good oportunity for me to be the coach for Odorheiu Secuiesc, one of the top teams in Romania, with good players and a professional management."

Do you think you can win the title for Odorheiu Secuiesc?
"I came here to win the Romanian Championship and the Romanian Cup. So I will win both."

Do you need some new players in Odorheiu Secuiesc?
"Yes I need some players and probably we will bring 2 or 3 players here."

Can you tell me some names?
"Right now I can not tell you the names of the players I want to bring in Odorheiu Secuiesc. Probably there will be 2 or 3 hungarian national team players."

What do you think about the ranking of Romanian National Team on FutsalPlanet website?
"I don’t think it is a good ranking. Your national team played a lot of friendlies games but you didn’t qualify for a European or World Championship. The official games are very important. It is not important to be on FutsalPlanet website ranking on 10th place. It is important to play in an European or World Tournament."
