ARGENTINA CROWNED IBSA BLIND FUTSAL WORLD CHAMPIONS

Hosts Argentina retained the title of IBSA Blind Futsal World Champions, defeating Brazil 1-0 in a hard-fought final at the 4th IBSA Blind Futsal World Championships in Buenos Aires. A second-half strike from Silvio Velo in the 42nd minute was enough to separate the teams and secure the title for the second time running against Paralympic Champions Brazil. Two thousand spectators packed the stadium to witness the home victory.

Fellow South Americans Paraguay saw off Spain in the 3rd-4th place play-off, beating the European Champions 2-1 with two goals from Villamayor either side of the break. Spain’s consolation goal came from López.

ARGENTINA SE PROCLAMA CAMPEONA DEL MUNDO DE FUTSAL PARA CIEGOS DE IBSA

La selección anfitriona, Argentina, ha revalidado el título de Campeones del Mundo de Futsal para Ciegos de IBSA gracias a una victoria por un gol a cero en una final reñida del 4º Campeonato Mundial de Futsal para Ciegos de IBSA, celebrado en Buenos Aires.

Un tanto en el segundo tiempo de Silvio Velo (minuto 42) bastó para separar a las dos selecciones y llevarse el título por segunda vez consecutiva a pesar de los esfuerzos de Brasil, los campeones Paralímpicos. Dos mil espectadores abarrotaron el estadio para ver triunfar al equipo local.

Otra selección sudamericana, la de Paraguay, se deshizo de España en el partido para el tercer y cuarto puesto, derrotando a los Campeones de Europa por dos goles a uno. Ambos goles los marcó Villamayor, uno en cada tiempo, mientras que el gol de la honrilla para España fue obra de López.
