The games of the 8th day have proven to be of great interest as Athina ’90 has claimed top spot in the league after the loss of Salamina at Iniohos 4-3. Iniohos managed to control the game and got an early advantage 3-0 for the greatest part of the game. Salamina was able to come back and reduce the gap but could not claim the win. Papastathis scored twice taking the home team to victory. Gerakas got an important tie at Doukas 4-4 that will assist them in the race to avoid relegation. Beretis scored two goals for the guest team.
Athina ’90 was the fourth team to escape with a win from Ilioupoli as they managed to overcome a bad performance and get the win 2-3. Athina ’90 remains the only undefeated team in the league after day 8. Platon got another easy win at Minotavros 3-8 with a good performance from Silignakis and Mostrios, both scoring a double.
They remain third in the league with a battle against second ranked Salamina coming up next Monday. Aeas has managed to win two games in a row and be on track to avoid the last positions of the league. It was Ethnikos Asteras this time which has fallen victim of the extravagant team from Pallini, even though they got on an early break 0-3 in the first half. Aeas fought back and with Papadopoulos, in good form scoring twice for the home team, managed to get a victory that means a lot for them.
