CFA Futsal Cup 2006 was held on November 25-30 in Guangzhou. With the joint effort of Chinese Football Association and the National Education Ministry, eight university futsal teams took part in this competition along with four futsal teams organized by local FAs across the country. The championship has been the first one since the wellknown sports brand Umbro sponsored the futsal league in March. It is one of the highest quality futsal competition organized by CFA besides the league with many a competitive futsal teams.

Four futsal league teams as well were involved in this tournament. Also, the Beijing Guoan football club, a Chinese Super league Club, sent a futsal team into this competition. One of the host teams was composed of players from Chinese Super League clubs and Division 1 clubs. Both Shandong University team and Beijing Physical Education university team were runner-ups in the Chinese University futsal league and the National Beach soccer tournament.

After the group stage competitions and the quarter-final, the four futsal league teams were all in the semi-final. Hubei University Wuhan Dilong beat Guangzhou with 7-3 marching into the final and Shanghai Xufang beat Chengdu UESTC 3-1 to meet Wuhan in the final. Finally Wuhan scored twice and conceded 1 goal in the final to acquire the CFA Cup and in the other game, Guangzhou overcame Chengdu to get the 3rd place.
