Pure magic as Quake outplays foes and champs

CAMBPELLTOWN City Quake outgunned old foes and current Premier Futsal League club championship leaders Sydney Magic when they took the major points in round 11 action on Saturday.

For the first time, Quake won more games than their opposition, finishing the day with four wins, three losses and a draw.

Patrick Antelmi found some of his magic in the 12 boys' match, scoring six goals to help Quake to an 8-2 win.
Quake's 14 boys were defeated 5-2, but they ensured Magic had to battle for their points in a game with a strong focus on defence.

The 13 girls' match turned into a Magic whitewash (15-0), but nothing could be taken from the Quake players who fought to the end.

Jon Hatton was Quake's star in the 16 boys game, putting five goals into the back of the net for his team's 7-4 win.

The 16 girls produced a high quality and entertaining match, with the Quake getting up 5-1. Stephanie Haim was on target with three goals while Lisa Hoban contributed two.

The youth game was a tight match-up played with plenty of spirit and emotion. Quake got up 3-1 while the Magic keeper sounded off at his defenders.

Quake's men's and women's teams found little satisfaction against Magic, the women falling 3-1 while the men couldn't break a 0-0 deadlock despite some excellent set play.
