Spain defeat Iran in second futsal friendly

PFDC - ZAMORA, After yesterday's surprising performance by Iran, the Spanish national futsal side clearly surpassed the visitors in a 5-2 victory in the second match between the two countries.

The hosts quickly broke the deadlock after four minutes through Rafa Munoz. The reaction of the Iranians was almost immediate.

First, a superb solo run by Shamsaei was pushed away by an equally superb save by Luis Amado. However, the goalkeeper couldn't do much on Zarei's perfect boomerang shot in the 11th minute.

Four minutes later, Azimaei gave Iran a 2-1 lead. But the Spaniards replied with two quick goals in two minutes thanks to Kike.

After the restart, the home side hang on to their one goal lead and eventually scored the killer goal and added another one two minutes before the final whistle, courtesies of Saul et Javi Eseverri.

Solid Iran draw Spain in the first of two friendlies

PFDC - BENAVENTE, In the first of the two friendly matches against Spain, ranked 2nd in the World Futsal Ranking, Iran's futsal side were convincing as they frighten the hosts in a 3-3 draw in Zamora.

On three occasions, the Iranians had the goal advantage on the adversaries but could not take snatch away the victory.Iran broke the deadlock thanks to Vahid Shamsaei in the 5th minute.

The Spaniards equalized 10 minutes later through Javier Eseverri. The paste of the game became very lively resulting in two quick goals.

Keshavarz gave to his side the goal priority a minute later, but the celebrations were short as Eseverri scored again only seconds later.

In the second half, the visitors again took the lead thanks to Keshavarz's second goal, but the Iranians couldn't hang on, three minutes before the final whistle, Andreu drew level.

The two sides are scheduled to play again tomorrow. Iran, seven-time Asian champions, are also treating these matches as preparation for the AFC Futsal Championship next year.

A draw and defeat against world Futsal champions, Spain

In a two headed futsal friendly match on two separate days, Iran faced Spain. Spain futsal team are titled to World champions and are embedded behind Italy in the World Futsal ranking as the second spot team.

In the first friendly match up, which took place on Wednesday, Iran (ranked 8th) managed to put up a rather convincing performance finishing in a 3-3 draw against World Champions. It is notable to mention that Iran was in a winning/draw situation the whole match as the Spaniards were the team chasing for equalizers.

The second match of the two headed friendly took place on Thursday. This time things looked to be going the same way until half time where Iran had the lead 2-1. Half time coach discussions, showed experienced coaching and quality of Spain as they managed to come into the second half with a rather superior game and defeat Iran 2-5.
